Phoebe Harris was born in Portland, ME in 1989, and returned to Maine in 2018 after living in Northampton, MA for several years. She graduated from Smith College with a B.A. in Studio Art in 2011. Phoebe’s work has taken a variety of forms including moveable, usable mediums like clothing, skateboards, tarot cards, books and housewares. Phoebe's painting practice has evolved and changed with time. Presently, her paintings ride the line between abstraction and representation – familiar shapes, figures, and landscapes are exaggerated with hyper-pigmented colors, while also remaining uncomplicated in detail and form. Phoebe’s work has been shown at galleries in Nashville, London, and various New England cities.
